In the bleak midwinter,
frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
water like a stone.
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
snow on snow.

(I actually had to Google this to come up with
a down home farmer's almanacky
when is spring ever happening
kind of number
and the website featured there
indicated 19 more days until spring
which thoroughly confused me
until I realized it was an Australian website
and remembered they're a day ahead of us.)
